What's your "deal breaker" when it comes to relationships?
Children. Can't have them or want them. I've had children and I'm done. I don't want to be a step-mother and I am not about to have another one this late in the game.
How are you a better person today than you were ten years ago?
Sponsored by Nature Made.
Ten years ago I was in my last year of college and going through a divorce. Circumstantially I would say I am definitely a better person. I also feel more empowered and powerful. I know myself better now than I ever did before. And given that I've read who knows how many books since then, I can honestly say I am better read than I was then.
Parties, dinners, pageants and more. How does technology help you survive the hustle and bustle of the holidays?

ONLINE SHOPPING!
I don't have to leave the house but I can get most of what I want/need without ever leaving the house. I suppose if I really put my mind to it, I could buy everything online right down to the turkey and stuffing but I enjoy some of the traditional hands-on cooking. I'm also finding recipes for sugar free desserts (pumpkin custard) for those of us (me!) who are trying to watch their wasitline.
The Cure sing “It’s Friday I’m in Love.” What are you “in” on this particular fall Friday?
I'm in a New York State of Mind
What single event changed your view of the world for the better or for the worse?
Submitted by iASHLEY.
Hurricane Katrina changed it for the worse.
The recent election changed it for the better.
Are you voting for the party that you're registered for?
For President or Senator or what? I am assuming this question is asking if I am voting for President along my chosen party's line and the answer is yes. However, that is not true across the board and I choose every candidate based on their individual merit.
Happy Halloween! What's your favorite scary movie?
I am still a sucker for the Romero Dead movies but I can't say that they scare me. The first movie to give me nightmares was The House on Haunted Hill, the original not the remake. I eventually saw The Exorcist on cable television and I had heard it was very terrifying. But by then I'd already read the book and I was disappointed by what had been left ouf of the movie.
I would have to say that the opening to The Prisoner, with that white bubble thing boiling up out of the ground, scarred me for life because I am still scared of lava lamps and get very uncomfortable whenever I am around one. In fact, I can't be in the same room with a lava lamp and have left stores that have them on display.
What first attracted you to the person you're currently dating?
His sleepy eyes. He looked at me when I went to where he worked and there was something in his eyes, a certain confidence and appreciation, that made me think maybe I'd stick it out longer than I had first intended.
What’s a simple thing you could do to save money, but are unwilling (or unable) to put to practice?
Sponsored by Microsoft Small Business.
I could give up the interrnet. That would save some money. And if I spent less time online, I would use less electricity because I wouldn't have the computer running so many hours a day. And if the computer weren't running all the time there would be less wear and tear on it so I wouldn't need to replace the monitor, speakers, keyboard, etc. as often.
Wow. When you put it like that, may I need to get rid of the internet. I could be saving a lot of money!
What's on your "To-Do" list today? What are you most looking forward to and what are you most dreading?
On my list:
Clean off desks
Make a mammogram appointment
Apply to jobs
Type up some writing
Make dinner and dessert
I am most looking forward to . . . I guess going to bed. I mean, I'm not doing anything terribly exciting today. I am most dreading applying for more jobs. I just think someone should give me a job without my having to jump through any hoops, thank you very much.
I'm sure I can't live without the internet. The withdrawal might kill me. ~RJ Essential Machine read more
